sorority snaps

In the Greek community snapping is a way of showing that you like something or it's good.  You can snap when someone says a comment you agree with, or when you approve highly of something. Snapping is positive!

Sorority snaps on Creole Wisdom will be for reviews and other goodies that I feel the world (my readers) should be aware of.  Sort of a positive review per say.  Here I will keep an ongoing list of snap-worthy things and update them often.

Beauty:
•It was time for some new conditioner, and my friend Brittany kindly recommended Fekkai brand from B&BW- I am in love.  Their curls line is great, not to heavy or greasy, helps control frizz, too.
•I get lots of e-mails/comments/questions regarding the hair stuff I use.  When it comes to styling products I am strictly an Aveda girl.  I love their stuff.
Bare Escentuals/Bare Minerals is the makeup that I would recommend to anyone. I have been using it for two solid years now and will never go back to traditional foundation. It is natural, easy, and looks wonderful.

Fitness:
•I have recently gotten into yoga, this is the studio that I go to when I can. Corepower has locations in a few states, and if you live in one try out their free first week. It will be worth it!
Lucy is a great store for women's active wear. I love their sales, since their stuff tends to be a bit pricey. The quality and customer service is wonderful.

Food:
•I am not about to put something really nasty into my body.  No, no, no (said in the tone of Amy Winehouse's "Rehab")
•So sometimes I do have to have my hot fudge sunday with 2 packs of nuts and fries from McDonalds, but other than that it's all organic and slow cooked goodies for me
•Yes, I am a food snob.  My favorites are Annie's mac + cheese, Horizon milk, and Kashi heart to heart cereal.
•Sushi just sounds good to me. Back home I buy it from Lunds/Byerlys, and in Utah I like Happy Sumo

Music/Entertainment:
•Nothing beats listening to Pandora during work when I'm stuck writing a script for a wrap or doing interview questions.  They are free, trust me, it's cool.
•Lots of good stars for anything Abba since Mama Mia has put me in the mood for it.  They are so good.
•When Mariah Carey's cd came out I had already pre-ordered it.  You have to understand, but since it's hard I'll explain it like this: when I am old and have dementia I'll be able to recognize her voice.  I have loved it all (the range, the glam, the sass, the fact that we are the same race) for over ten years.  We go back Mariah and I, we go back.

Reading:
•I have really enjoyed reading Stephenie Meyer's books; Twilight, New Moon, and Eclipse. She is a wonderful writer and her work is addictive. To read more about her go here.

•Judith Kratz, V.C. Andrews, and Anne Rice fill my: beach time need a book desires
•I have an unhealthy obsession with F Scott Fitzgerald.  We are from the same town, and it's too bad he's not alive now...

•In 12th grade I discovered Kate Chopin and have not been the same since!

Scrapbooking:
Two peas in a bucket it just a fun place to sit and chat/message board with other scrapbooking ladies.  They also have a very helpful photographer's board.
Simple Scrapbooks is my favorite of all the magazines out there- if you like a clean, uncluttered look

Spiritual Stuff:
•I go to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day saints.  Accurate information and answers to basic questions can be answered here.
Segullah is a creative and literary outlet for Latter-day saint women.  Similarly, their blog ("Blog Segullah") offers the chance for regulars and guests to contribute as well.  I had the chance to write for them August 2007, and here is a link to my piece
•My college newspaper also did two pieces about the LDS community on campus and the conversion process. They interviewed me twice- to read the entries just e-mail me, and I'll be happy to send them to you!
