the voodoo that you do: why "creole wisdom"
Back in the spring of 2005 I was one busy high school senior at a little Catholic all-girls academy ready to escape and enter the "real world." After learning that my grandpa was Creole and not part Native American like we had previously thought I became entranced in the culture, language, and history behind the Creole people, and my heritage in general.
Since this blog has chronicled my little life from the August 2005 before Freshman Orientation to now, senior year, it is only fitting that wisdom be involved. Now, in no way shape or form am I suggesting that I am wise. Quite the contrary. But I won't beat myself either, I did ace my History final (don't ask me about the Science one). If you read my archives you can see how far I've come, especially my writing skills.
I'm a Minnesotan, Minneapolis girl born and mostly raised (with a few stints here and there, most notably 4 years in Oregon and 1 in New York). My occupation: Student, my dream occupation: Broadcasting. With a mouth like mine, there's only really one good career for me-
CW is an outlet for me to have all my visual aesthetic OCD tendencies become reality. I love photography, enjoy talking about my horrendous dating experiences, and live the sorority life to the fullest. Please comment if you visit, I would love to hear from you.
So, long story short: I'm 1/4 Creole and I'm trying to gain wisdom (this is my sixteenth year in some school or another!) Despite being twenty-one with a freckly face I am probably a lot like you. I make the same mistakes a lot, forget where my cell phone is and have to have my roomie call it, and sometimes forget my date's name (whoops).
